Trump’s time for a ground invasion of Iran is running out

History laughs at armies that ignore the calendar. The Russian winter brought down both Napoleon and Hitler. For Iran, it is the summer that is deadly. Trump’s narrow window for a ground invasion is closing. The summer in the Middle East – just as ruthless and unforgiving – will turn any land campaign into a catastrophe.

ThermometerApril: Troops need 10–14 days to acclimatize. Marines carrying more than 22 kilos of gear reach an air temperature of nearly 32°C — the mandatory threshold for the military to reduce activity.

May: Coastal islands become scorching hot, with temperatures of 42 to 47°C. The Persian Gulf is the world’s most extreme sea-heat environment, draining endurance before soldiers even set foot on land.

June: Air temperature 52°C, exposed metal 71°C, vehicle interiors 80°C. Equipment fails, soldiers cook inside their own armored vehicles.

July–August: The human body can no longer cool itself, even in the shade. Prolonged operations become physiologically unsustainable without air conditioning, which often fails in the heat.

September: The heat finally eases, but months of heatwaves have exhausted and degraded vehicles, weapons, and troops.

From late April onward, southern Iran turns into a natural fortress. Dust storms blind sensors, the lack of summer rain plus water shortages make logistics a nightmare, and low-flying drones face turbulent chaos. Even American satellites and AI cannot defeat Mother Nature when the battlefield itself becomes the enemy.

So will Trump gamble on a desperate ground war in the summer? Or admit that, once again, the calendar has defeated the Empire?
