The final warning: Russia’s patience has run out, and NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine is on the verge of undergoing a catastrophic development.
For months, the so-called experts in Brussels and Washington have dismissed Russian warnings as “empty talk” and “propaganda.” They laughed off the idea of red lines, assuming that Moscow’s restraint was a permanent condition. They were wrong. Completely wrong.
We are standing on the edge of a catastrophic escalation. The era of Russian patience is over. According to Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector and intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, Russia is no longer playing the game of absorbing blows while begging for diplomacy. In an explosive interview with Glenn Diesen, Ritter outlines a grim reality that the Western media are too cowardly to publish: Russia is preparing a decisive, devastating strike on European targets such as the Baltic states and Finland if they continue their direct participation in the war against Russia.
If you think this is exaggerated, you have not been paying attention. The time for a step-by-step approach is over. The time for “warning strikes” is over. As Ritter bluntly puts it: “If you want to attack a NATO country... kill the king.”

The proxy war is an act of war
Let us be absolutely clear about what is happening now. We are not merely talking about defensive support for Ukraine. We are talking about the Baltic states and Finland actively facilitating and carrying out drone attacks deep into the strategic depth of the Russian Federation. These are not tactical combat drones; these are weapons designed to hit critical infrastructure deep inside Russia.
Ritter rightly points to the fatal flaw in European logic: the illusion that they can remain “non-participants” while their intelligence services guide missiles and their factories produce the ammunition. This is a distinction without a meaningful difference. It is, in fact, a proxy war, and in the eyes of the Kremlin it constitutes an act of war by European states.
For two years, Russia showed strategic restraint. They allowed NATO’s red lines to be crossed because, as Ritter notes, an excessive reaction would have strengthened Ukraine’s faltering backbone. But that calculation has changed. The Europeans, led by the reckless posture of Finland and the Baltic trio, are now boasting about their role in the conflict. They have stepped out of the shadows.
And now they must face the consequences.
The “Paper Tiger” alliance
The most dangerous assumption in Washington and Brussels is that NATO’s Article 5 functions as a magical shield. Ritter exposes this fantasy. The United States, under a transactional leader like Donald Trump, will not sacrifice its own security for a set of European capitals that have behaved like arsonists.

As Ritter predicts, the United States will not rally behind Europe when Russia strikes — and he argues that it is a matter of when, not if — but when. The response will be cold and pragmatic: “You brought this on yourselves. This was a stupid policy. We told you to seek peace.”
NATO is already a zombie alliance, kept alive only by inertia. A single, decisive Russian strike on the drone bases in Estonia, Finland, or the logistical hubs in Germany would break the alliance’s spine for good. Europe has lived for decades under the American nuclear umbrella as if it had an army of its own. It does not. Europe has no army, no sustainable defense industry, and no air force independent of the Pentagon.
Ritter is unequivocal: “Europe will discover that it simply cannot wage war against Russia.
They are not ready for it. They do not have the means.”
Why a “warning strike” is pointless
Many so-called experts suggest that Russia will fire a few cruise missiles at an empty field as a “signal.” Ritter dismisses this as dangerous nonsense. A warning strike would not deter the West; it would only encourage them and prove that Russia is still afraid to pull the trigger. No. Russia must strike to win.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has already published its target list. Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has invoked Russia’s right to self-defense. These are not diplomatic courtesies; these are the final legal steps before kinetic action. When Russia moves, it must do so with overwhelming force, intended to eliminate Europe’s ability to wage this proxy war.
This is the moment to “take the bull by the horns or remain silent.” Either Europe gives in and accepts a negotiated settlement that recognizes Russian security interests, or it takes such a heavy blow that its economies collapse under the weight of their own arrogance.
Economic collapse is the real weapon
Those who underestimate Russia’s military capabilities are looking at the wrong battlefield. The war in Ukraine has exposed Europe’s fatal weakness: energy. Ritter points to the warning from the International Energy Agency that Europe could run out of jet fuel within weeks. What happens when the European aviation industry grinds to a halt in the middle of the summer season? What happens to the German industrial model when energy prices spiral out of control?
The Russian economy is on a war footing and is thriving thanks to global demand for energy. Europe, by contrast, is freezing and deindustrializing. By escalating the proxy war, Europe is committing economic suicide. They are spending billions on American weapons they cannot afford, for a war they cannot win, while their own citizens suffer.
The endgame: a decisive summer
Scott Ritter’s analysis of the battlefield confirms what independent observers have known for months: Ukraine has no reserves. Their counteroffensives have been suicidal traps set by Russian strategists. The Russian military has methodically cut lines of communication and exhausted Ukrainian manpower. They are preparing the battlefield for a summer offensive that will not merely push back the line, but completely shatter the Ukrainian state.
In this context, the bluffing from Berlin and Paris is pathetic theater. The lifting of Viktor Orbán’s blockade in the EU changes nothing. As Ritter mockingly says: “Who cares?” Ninety billion euros of fake money do not conjure Patriot missiles out of thin air. It does not solve the corruption in Kyiv. It does not stop the Russian advance.
The clock is ticking
The message from Moscow is now terrifyingly clear. The possibility of escalation is shrinking. If Finland and the Baltic states continue to allow their territory to be used as a launch platform for attacks on Russia, they will be regarded as legitimate military targets.
Ritter believes that Russia has “all conditions green” to strike. The only thing that held them back was economic fear, and that fear has disappeared. The United States is distracted by the Middle East. The European population is tired and indifferent. The military balance is shifting irreversibly in Russia’s favor. If the European Union still had even a shred of strategic insight, they would pick up the phone now and beg the Kremlin for a ceasefire. Instead, they continue their madness.
Scott Ritter has issued the warning. The Russian Ministry of Defense has published the list. The only question that remains is whether the Western media will continue to mislead their public into believing that Europe can wage war against Russia without ever having to endure a counterstrike.
The decisive strike is coming. And when it happens, the map of European security will go up in flames.
