Iran's plan is to restore its status as a great power
By gaining control over the Strait of Hormuz and proposing that the energy exported through it must be paid for in Chinese yuan, Iran is simply undermining the foundations of dollar hegemony and the financialization of the economy: It is the end of the petrodollar. This new regional configuration could even have favorable effects for BRICS countries in the medium and long term. I heard Rubio say: It's illegal, we cannot allow this. Well, what do they think happens at the Suez Canal? The same goes for Panama.

The prospect is nothing less than a return of Iran to its position as a world power, a role it held for centuries. The loss of power in recent decades was largely due to the alliance between the US and its allies in the region – a predominantly Sunni alliance – which sought to "weaken Iran and transform it into a vassal state." Although it did not become a vassal state, the country ceased to be a "major world power," something it had been for centuries. However, the war unleashed by the imperialist Zionist axis would enable Iran to "change the entire paradigm in West Asia and restore Persian power."
The new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a brief statement a few days ago. In it, Iran set its own ultimatum: an end to the American presence in the region, an end to the military presence, the lifting of all sanctions, the return of frozen Iranian assets, and compensation for damages caused. The American military bases have been completely destroyed. Some equipment, such as the radars, cost one billion dollars each. It takes five to eight years to replace them because the US now has so few suppliers and skilled workers. Moreover, they don't have the means for it.
At the moment, there is great indignation in the Arab Gulf states who find this scandalous and will not accept it. They want to join the war against Iran. But since they cannot drive Iran out of the Strait of Hormuz, and neither can America, they will eventually come to understand that if they want to continue to exist as an economic entity, they must cooperate with Iran. Dollar hegemony has in fact created an artificial demand for dollars, the dollar has increased in value, it has eroded their production base, because America is no longer competitive in manufacturing. Although America is largely self-sufficient in terms of energy, its structure is geared toward a different, non-industrial way of life.
They need to change this to put an end to this economy where the elite, the billionaires, earn more and more money without making any effort. In contrast, at least 80% of the American population cannot afford a house, healthcare, or anything like that. Due to the way the West thinks about artificial intelligence, the consequences of this economic crisis will mean a huge, deplorable slaughter of middle-class jobs in America and Europe. Europe will be hit the hardest.
How will this war affect BRICS? The West was already at war with one BRICS member, Russia, and is now at war with another BRICS member, Iran. At the same time, China and Russia are providing crucial support to Iran. You have countries like India, which like to have one foot in one camp and the other in the other camp and don't want to commit anywhere. Brazil too, to some extent. (According to Russia, Iran and China, RIC is also good).
Western triumph narratives often forget that in antiquity, Persia repeatedly humiliated the greatest Western empire.

The threats of American President Donald Trump against Iran since the beginning of the war are aimed not only at the country's military capabilities, but at the entire civilization. In recent days, he has threatened that Iran would be "wiped off the face of the earth" if it attacks American ships trying to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He has previously promised to send Iran back to the "Stone Age" and warned that "an entire civilization will die tonight, never to return." These statements show not only extreme belligerence, but also Trump's complete lack of understanding of Iran's long, resilient culture and civilization and the steadfastness of the Iranian people. Iran has known many internal conflicts and foreign interventions, but has never been colonized or subjugated. At every difficult moment in their history, Iranians have fought to preserve what is theirs.
Persian influence in ancient Greece and Rome
Since the Greco-Persian Wars (499 BC), Persia has served as the ultimate "other" of the West: a dark and despotic Eastern villain threatening an enlightened West. This despite the fact that Persia brought the Jews back from Babylon to Jerusalem to rebuild their temple in 538 BC, and despite the tolerance for diversity in the world's first truly multicultural empire.
The victories of a coalition of Greek city-states over the Achaemenid Persian imperial troops at Salamis (480 BC) and Marathon (490 BC) are considered crucial moments in the history of Western civilization.
Yet this was only a minor setback for Persia. In fact, Persia continued to play a decisive role in Greek affairs. Persian gold helped Sparta defeat Athens in the Peloponnesian War (431-404 BC), and Persia was often the key mediator in Greek affairs. The Parthian and Sassanid empires that succeeded the Achaemenids in Persia then challenged the Romans.
