The Bankers War
Why Iran Is the Target and Why the "Values" Argument Is a Lie
Alex Krainer spent his professional life in financial markets, actively trading commodities, financial products, and currencies. In a recent interview with Glenn Diesen, he gave a grim, systemic explanation for the escalating tensions with Iran – an explanation that has nothing to do with headlines about nuclear programs or women's rights, and everything to do with collateral.

To understand the looming war with Iran, we must understand the pretexts and look at the ultimate driver of conflict: the seizure of collateral or security.
They say it is about the Strait of Hormuz, ballistic missiles, the clerical regime in Tehran, or freedom and democracy. These are merely pretexts. The ultimate reason is that Iran is the fifth or sixth richest nation in the world in terms of natural resources, with an estimated value of approximately $35 trillion.
If the Western Empire – with the United States as its military enforcement arm – could gain political control over Tehran, that $35 trillion would become collateral for the Western banking cartel. That amount would serve to revive a fraudulent financial system that is currently imploding.
The problem is fundamental: every dollar, euro, or yen in circulation is created out of thin air. This process makes everyone poorer. It will continue until the system can seize new money, good collateral, to restore itself.
This is why all wars are ultimately bankers' wars. The banking class cannot stop. They do not plow fields, build factories, or write symphonies. They do nothing but create money out of nothing, lend it to us at interest, and collect collection services on those debts. That is their only function. To sustain that system, they will sacrifice any nation they occupy, including the United States, Britain, and France.
The Absurdity of "Values"
See the moral hypocrisy at play here. Iran could open a strip club on every street corner and adopt every Western law; they would still not be accepted. On the other hand, we support genocide, install ISIS leaders in power, support Nazi-like groups, and as former President Trump suggested, we seem ready to wipe out an entire civilization with the approval of figures like NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
The idea that this is about values, principles, or headscarves is ridiculous. It is frightening that so many people continue to swallow this narrative. The US and Israel are not bombing Iran to free women; they are bombing Iran to free its resources.
A Film We Have Seen Many Times
We have seen this film many times before. The script is always the same: demonize the other side to justify the war.
• In Syria, Bashar al-Assad was the worst person in the world, "killing his own people."
• Before him, Muammar Gaddafi was the monster of Libya.
• Saddam Hussein was a madman.
• Slobodan Milošević was a madman.
• Salvador Allende, Daniel Ortega, Ho Chi Minh, Noriega, Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro, Vladimir Putin... the list of fabricated villains is endless.
We pretend to slay dragons to make the world safe for democracy. But look at the graveyard of our "humanitarian" interventions. Where is the shining example of a prosperous democracy that we have created?
• Syria is in the hands of an Al-Qaeda offshoot whose leader, until recently, had a $10 million bounty on his head. He is now received in the West as an honored statesman.
• Libya, once the most prosperous African nation with the highest standard of living under Gaddafi, is now a failed state with open slave markets and warlords.
• Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan: wherever the West intervenes, we create chaos, destruction, and immeasurable suffering.
The CIA knows that the public loses interest, so they reframe the war as if it is about "women's rights," or they create the LGBT craze, because those stories are well received in Europe. But look at Afghanistan. For twenty years, the West occupied the country in the name of freedom. When we withdrew in 2021, the media cried crocodile tears over "women and girls." But during that same occupation, more than 50% of all Afghan children born were malnourished. What exactly were we supporting women and girls for?
Europe's Fate
There is a part of the Western public that is willing to swallow any lie fed to them, because human nature wants to believe that they are the good ones. But the ruling elite is orchestrating a major war against an external enemy. The entire European continent is actively being primed for war with Russia. Unless we respond very decisively, Europe could share the same fate as Ukraine – a continent sacrificed on the altar of the financial oligarchy.
We are witnessing a crisis of reason and rationality. The world is fragmenting, and we are moving toward a multipolar order in which the United States will eventually have to retreat to its own hemisphere. But for that transition to be peaceful, a complete reform of the monetary system is needed. The United States is still dominated by banking oligarchs who do not see the world as communities of people, but as slave labor and natural resources to be converted into financial flows.
Henry Kissinger once said that it is dangerous to be an enemy of the United States, but fatal to be a friend.
The Gulf states and Europe are slowly learning this lesson.
This moloch never stops. If they succeed in bringing down Putin, they will militarize Russia against China, just as they used Ukraine against Russia. If they succeed in Iran, they will cut off Russia's north-south transport corridor. The strategy of playing power against power is a British imperial tactic perfected over centuries. It is a malevolence that never rests. Once a nation like Libya becomes prosperous and wants to be left alone to develop for its own people, it must be destroyed.
We are in a state of permanent warfare, and all these wars come from the same source: the financial centers of the Western banking oligarchy.
